Best and Brightest B2B The Grand Strand 2024
Sep 13, 2024 11:19AM ● By Donna WalkerWelcome to our Best and Brightest 35 and Under! For the first time, we are recognizing individuals in four geographic regions of South Carolina: Greenville, Columbia, Charleston, and now the Grand Strand. We launched our B2B: The Grand Strand edition earlier this year, and we are proud to celebrate 32 young people who are committed to making a difference in their communities in Myrtle Beach and beyond.
Our Greenville edition has the largest contingent of honorees, with 43 people who work in everything from law to real estate, nonprofits to education. This is our 30th year honoring Greenville residents.
In Columbia, we have 38 honorees, while in Charleston we have 34 recipients.
We are pleased to have the opportunity to showcase so many up-and-coming leaders who are making a difference in their communities despite their young ages.
We salute them, and we can’t wait to see what else happens for them in the coming years. Each individual has his or her own story to tell, and it is our privilege to share their stories.
We will honor all of these remarkable leaders at events in their respective cities during the month of September.

Tiffany Dwiggins
Age 35
Owner
Drippy’s Homemade Ice Cream
After being a stay-at-home mom from 2012 until 2021 while my three children were young, my husband and I bought the family business that I grew up working in and started our journey as business owners. Over the past couple of years, it has been my joy to lead our amazing team in carrying on the legacy of great homemade ice cream, and great service to the South Strand. During our ownership, the business has grown from one single shop to three amazing locations, and just this summer we launched our first ice cream truck!
Drippy’s is a relatively transitional employer. Many of our team members come to Drippy’s during high school or college as they are studying and planning for the rest of their lives. I love getting the opportunity to play a small part in each of their transitions into adulthood. I believe the values learned through hard work, service, and fun at our shops have the potential to shape each person that works with us into a better version of themselves.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Be brave in relationships. EVERYONE is looking for connection and kindness.

Age 26
COO
Shade & Shutter Expo
I was raised on the Grand Strand where my family started their business, Shade & Shutter Expo, over 20 years ago. Family is important to me, and it’s a true blessing to work beside them and carry on this legacy that they have created together.
Growing up I thought I would take my own career path, that’s when I learned college was not my strong suit. When Covid hit, I began working full time at Shade & Shutter Expo, where I quickly fell into step of what it truly means to be a small family-owned business. As any family does, we faced our own trials and tribulations that allowed me to take on more responsibilities that have gotten me to where I am today.
My goal is to keep this legacy alive and create an environment that my family wants to maintain for years to come. This community has allowed our company to expand within our walls and throughout other territories, and I believe it’s important to pour into those who pour into us.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
You don't need to decide how to spend the rest of your life right now. Do what makes you happy and create something that you are proud of.
Andrew Finch

After living in the Northeast for most of my life, I finally found home here in Myrtle Beach in 2021. I am a United States Army veteran having served during Operation Enduring Freedom.

I currently serve in the following capacities: treasurer of the Myrtle Beach Chicora Rotary Club, treasurer of the Leadership Grand Strand Board of Regents, Ambassador and business development committee member for the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, member of the Housing Opportunity Advisory Group and the Young Professionals Network within Coastal Carolinas Association of REALTORS, and steering committee member for the Grand Strand Young Professionals.
Whether it be in service to my employer, clients or my community, I strive to be the very best I can be for those around me.
What is the most important attribute of a successful leader?
Although there are so many critical attributes that make up a successful leader, I believe integrity to be of utmost importance, as it encompasses so many other attributes within it.
Andrew Gaydosh
Age 29
Risk Management Specialist
The Cincinnati Insurance Company
Since moving to Myrtle Beach in 2022, I have found to make this a place I can call “home.” Originally from Homer City, Pennsylvania, I have had the grateful opportunity to work and live in four cities, coast to coast post-graduation in 2018.
My duties as a risk management specialist at the Cincinnati Insurance Company allow me to bring value and support to all of our policyholders across the Southeast, including our community here in Myrtle Beach. I find true joy in assisting an organization by analyzing their portfolio and operations to help mitigate claims, which ultimately makes their organization more profitable and sustainable.
Outside of the office, my hobbies include golf, playing with my dog on the beach, and travel. I am working on a bucket list goal to visit every MLB ballpark. Thus far, we currently are at 19. Coming from a Pittsburgh sports fanatic, it may sound biased, but PNC Park still remains No. 1 on the list.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Embrace change. Whether change is a new job, relocating to a new area, or working with a new system. With change comes new opportunities for growth. The world is ever-changing for efficiency, and don’t be afraid to take that leap forward.

Age 30
News Anchor/Reporter
WPDE ABC 15 News
Born and raised in Tampa to Jamaican immigrants, I embody the vibrant cultural tapestry of my hometown. After earning my degree from Florida International University, I embarked on a career in journalism, accumulating experience in various newsroom roles as an anchor, reporter, producer, and becoming an Emmy Award-winning journalist. My ultimate aspiration is to become a legacy anchor in my hometown, where I firmly believe in the power of accountability and shared purpose.
I am deeply rooted in the belief that community defines us; we thrive together, not in isolation. Engaging with diverse individuals from all walks of life fuels my passion. Understanding each person’s unique journey without prejudice reveals our shared humanity.
In every interaction, I strive to leave a positive impact, giving a voice to the voiceless.
What book or podcast would you recommend?
I am a huge fan of true crime, so I would recommend listening to “Crime Junkie.” I think the hosts do a great job of advocating for victims and shining a light on the horrible and tragic crimes that could happen in your backyard. Listening to this podcast made me more vigilant but also as a journalist made me want to do my own research into the stories of both the victims and accused.

Age 29
Store Manager
TD Bank
I grew up on a small family farm in the Aynor community, and it was hard to imagine a life outside of a hayfield. Occasionally, I would go to the bank with my grandma. They always welcomed her by name, and I would see these smiling, perfectly polished professionals. I wanted to be just like that.
I now get to live that dream every day as I serve as store manager at TD Bank in our Plantation Point location in Myrtle Beach. During my development at TD Bank, I get to serve my community by helping people accomplish their financial goals. Each day, I get the opportunity to be a cheerleader for my team and clients, which makes banking even more rewarding.
In my eight years at TD Bank, I have had many personal achievements such as WOW! Awards and a CEO Leadership Award, but nothing compares to watching my team receive these same awards and recognitions. My goal is to continue to better the community I serve and hope that I am that same smiling and perfectly polished professional who is inspiring the next generation.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Don’t stress about feeling like you are not as far ahead in life as others. You will always end up in the places that you are supposed to be in.

Stunning and Brilliant Events
I formed Stunning and Brilliant Events in 2010. With 13 years in the industry, I’m is pretty much a walking wedding encyclopedia.
I landed in the event planning business after booking my first wedding for just $450 and using my mom and friend as free labor! Since then, I have had the privilege of learning from some of the best, including David Tutera and Preston Bailey. From there I created a catchy name, designed a website with her signature chandelier, and began marketing what has become the pinnacle of Southern event planning.
Because I have so much time on my hands running a national company, I’ve also added these titles to my repertoire: co-founder of The Grand Strand Bridal Expo, founder of Lemon or Lime, Wedding MBA educator, and Coastal Carolina University Alumni of The Year 2023.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
Don't wait! Do it now! Always take risks!

Executive Director
Habitat for Humanity of Horry County
As a free-range, farm-raised granddaughter of a construction company, I started my career at four years old with a putty knife in one hand and a garden spade in the other. I sought warmer weather at Coastal Carolina University, and then obtained a master’s degree from a business school in Paris, France. Upon returning to the states, I put roots down in the Grand Strand.
In my free time, I had set out to learn what it means to “love my neighbor as I love myself.” That set me on a life path that included social service, advocacy, and real estate investing in a sweet little five-block radius that I call home. Eventually, this incredible adventure evolved into a career at HFHHC.
I consider it an honor of a lifetime to lead an organization filled with so many mission-driven experts. At Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, we simply won’t stop bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope – until everyone has a decent place to live.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
I wouldn't tell that girl anything! My 18-year-old self approached life with an unbroken spirit. She was intense, brilliant, and hungry for the chance to make a difference in the world. I needed to try and fail in order to learn my life lessons. I wouldn't have had it any other way!

Age 28
Insurance Agent
State Farm
Raised in Dalton, Georgia, I moved with my amazing wife and golden retriever Trip to Myrtle Beach right after our wedding. I love the beach and always wanted to try living somewhere fresh and exciting.
I have been with State Farm for five years and have worked for multiple agents. I am a bit of an underdog story, having only a GED and being only 28; professionally speaking, the cards were not in my favor. However, with the help of an army of amazing people in my life, strong work ethic, and my faith, I have found immense success in my company.
I believe wholeheartedly in the American dream and cannot wait to open my own agency in January 2025! The Grand Strand has been such a valuable place to hone my craft and serve my fellow citizens. It is quite rare to find such a genuine hometown feel with considerate and professional businessmen and women. I am forever grateful for my time spent here.
What is the most important attribute of a successful leader?
Depth of character.

LISW-CP/S
Black River Counseling LLP
I am a licensed independent social worker and supervisor who created a community resource catalog for Georgetown and Horry counties. One of my biggest accomplishments was being the first in my cohort to achieve the highest license in my field. My long-term goals include expanding my practice to offer learning opportunities for students and clinical interns, delivering quality mental health care to underserved communities, and to advance the counseling profession to include both more people of color and more men.
While many believe bigger is better, I focus on the impactful micro-differences that change lives by building relationships and helping individuals’ network during crises. Whether providing crisis intervention in emergency rooms or supporting students with scholarship opportunities, I strive to make a difference for those in need. In a school system lacking mental health services, I helped establish a Mental Health Peer Support Group and volunteer as a coach at the YMCA.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

CCU and the Grand Strand have given so much to me over the years and it is an honor to give back through volunteering with my sorority, mentoring students, and simple acts of kindness.
I am currently working towards my master’s in higher education administration. My long-term goal is to become a dean of students.

Age 31
Chief Innovation Officer
City of Myrtle Beach
Originally from the Southwest, I’ve served in various municipalities and public institutions across the US since 2011, but I can say there’s no other place like the beautiful Grand Strand.
I joined Myrtle Beach in 2022 as the city’s first CIO. In 2023, our “First in Service” team launched our Living Lab program, a public-private innovation partnership designed to support prototyping and testing of emerging technologies, while encouraging business expansion. We’ve had more than 25 companies engaging in the testbed so far. None of it would be possible without the forward-thinking leadership in Myrtle Beach, our tremendous local talent, or the support from our regional stakeholders and the state.
As a former foster care kid, my success is about creating opportunities for anyone to beat the odds, while ensuring our communities are built beyond a lifetime, all for the generations of today and tomorrow. That’s what is so rewarding about the public sector – we get to do that every day.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?

Membership Engagement Coordinator
Conway Chamber of Commerce
I was born and raised in Horry County and have been with the Conway Chamber for about nine months. It is a seemingly short amount of time to be with a professional organization, but I have learned so much in my time here. I feel I am right where I am meant to be. I have been working hard to get the membership programs and benefits at the Conway Chamber of Commerce up and running once again.
I strive to help people to be successful in my work life and personal life by communicating effectively, creating, planning events, organizing programs, and ultimately helping others to be successful.
I had many doubts about whether I was capable of doing this job, but I learned I can do anything with a little help. I often hear people say, God will not give you more than you can handle, but I disagree. God will most definitely give you more than you can handle, but he will be there to help you handle it if you just ask.
What advice would you give your 18-year-old self?
I would tell her to keep going in the direction she is heading. Do not be afraid, trust and have faith in the things you know. They will not fail you.

I have worked with Williamson McCarty & Associates since August 2023 as a financial adviser with Eagle Strategies LLC. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2018 with a bachelor’s in finance and was a member of the CCU men’s soccer team.
Prior to joining Williamson McCarty & Associates, I was a financial controller for Aramark at Coastal Carolina, working with managers and employees on budgeting and controlling costs. My passion for working and helping people with their financial strategy led me to this career.
I obtained my Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP®) designation in 2023. I have obtained Executive Council, which recognizes the top performers in the company, in my three years (2022-2024) in the business.
My wife, Gabby, and enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and going to the beach with our dogs Lucy and Ada.

Director of Community Impact
United Way of Horry County
I started at United Way of Horry County in November 2019, transitioning from Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, where I spent three impactful years.
A Pennsylvania native, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from Coastal Carolina University in May 2016, and my passion for serving others has been a guiding force throughout my career. As a student, I immersed myself in volunteer work across Horry County and Washington D.C., an experience that solidified my commitment to making a difference in people’s lives and making a career in the nonprofit sector.
I have served on the Grand Strand Young Professionals Steering Committee, am an alumna of Conway Leadership, Class XLI of Leadership Grand Strand, and served as a Leadership Grand Strand Board of Regents member. Giving back to the community is very important to me as it helps unite the community and bridge some of the social and economic gaps.
