Hi, I’m Gianna, a licensed physical therapist assistant at Tidelands Health, where I’m passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life through movement, rehabilitation, and compassionate care. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients while continuing to grow as a clinician and advocate for patient-centered care. I take pride in creating meaningful connections with my patients and helping them regain confidence and independence as they work toward recovery. My long-term goal is to continue expanding my knowledge and skills while becoming a leader in the rehabilitation field and making a lasting impact on my community. To me, giving back means more than providing care — it means building relationships, empowering others, and helping people feel confident in their ability to live active, healthy lives. I am grateful to have a career that allows me to make a difference every day, and I hope to continue using my passion for physical therapy to positively impact the Myrtle Beach community.

Favorite Quote and Why: "A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms." In today’s world, especially with social media, it’s so easy to fall into the mindset of, “Wow, they’re doing so much better than me.” We constantly see everyone else’s accomplishments, milestones, and highlights, and it can make us feel like we’re falling behind. But instead, we have to remind ourselves, “Wow, I’m doing so much better than I was before. I’m growing every day.” I love this quote because it’s a reminder to focus on our own journey rather than constantly comparing it to someone else’s. When we spend too much time looking at what everyone else is doing, we lose sight of our own progress and stop holding ourselves accountable for the person we want to become. Growth isn’t about being ahead of everyone else — it’s about being better than the person you were yesterday.

Definition of a Successful Leader: A successful leader is someone who inspires others through their actions, not just their words. They lead with compassion, remain open to learning, and genuinely want to see the people around them succeed. I believe the best leaders create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and growing. Ultimately, I think leadership is about making the people around you better while continuing to better yourself.

Advice to 18-Year-Old Self: Don’t be so hard on yourself. Stop holding yourself back because you’re afraid of failing or not being good enough. Give yourself permission to try new things, make mistakes, and learn along the way. You’ll never know what you’re capable of if you’re too afraid to take the first step. Failure isn’t the end — it’s an opportunity to grow, learn, and try again. The worst thing that can happen is that you dust yourself off, take what you learned, and keep moving forward. Don’t let fear of failure keep you from experiencing the things that could shape who you become.
