For me, leadership is the ability to earn trust, set clear direction, and create the conditions for others to succeed. It requires listening carefully, making disciplined decisions, and acting with integrity even when outcomes are uncertain. True leadership is not positional. It is demonstrated through accountability, consistency, and a willingness to serve clients, colleagues, and your community with intention and care.
Focus on what you can control. Preparation, communication, and how you treat people will always matter more than short-term outcomes. Markets change, strategies evolve, and conditions fluctuate, but trust is built through consistency and integrity. When you do the right work for the right reasons over time, results tend to follow.
I would trust my instincts earlier and ignore Imposter Syndrome! Early in my career, I sometimes waited for external validation before taking decisive action. Experience has reinforced that preparation and perspective matter, but so does confidence. Learning to trust your judgment sooner can accelerate growth and allow you to lead with greater clarity and conviction.
