As brand director | design, Sonya Watson creates authentic brands through a collaborative process she likens to the Norwegian concept of “standhaftighet,” or perseverance. With both a Bachelors and Masters in Fine Art for Graphic Design, she has built her career in the creative industry. Before joining Circa and opening the Greenville studio, she held roles at DVL Seigenthaler and Freedom Forum First Amendment Center. Her work has earned Addy, Parthenon, Print Magazine, and Telly awards.
My goal as a leader is to show up consistently, listen deeply, and offer presence through curiosity, challenge, feedback, and encouragement. I care about finding designers’ strengths and helping them grow into their best selves. Experience guides me, but emotional intelligence shapes how I lead. I try to be a calm, steady presence — trusting the process over forcing outcomes. I believe learning never stops, and I’m focused on giving clearer steps to support career growth.
