James Winebrake, Ph.D., serves as the fourth president of Coastal Carolina University. Prior to his time at CCU, Winebrake served as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Winebrake has held additional leadership roles, including dean of the College of Liberal Arts and chair of the Public Policy Department at Rochester Institute of Technology, as well as faculty appointments at James Madison University. Internationally recognized for his research in environmental and transportation policy, Winebrake has served on multiple committees of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, and on the New York State Energy Planning board.
